York County has released a native spreadsheet of purchase orders issued during the first half of 2026 in response to an RTK Media Right-to-Know request focused on purchases between $8,000 and $23,200.
RTK Media filed request R000404-082726 on August 27, 2026. The request sought purchase order number, date, vendor, total amount, department, description or purpose and accounting classification for purchases within that dollar range.
The County invoked a 30-day extension on September 3 and notified RTK Media on October 6 that responsive records had been identified.
79 purchase orders total nearly $989,000
The released spreadsheet contains 79 purchase orders with a combined Total Ordered amount of $988,874.84.
The average purchase order in the file is approximately $12,517.40, while the median is $11,000. The spreadsheet's create dates run from January 5 through June 29, 2026.
Prison and Facilities Management make up more than half of the file
| Department | Purchase orders | Total ordered |
|---|---|---|
| Prison | 28 | $305,326.27 |
| Facilities Management | 14 | $206,733.29 |
| Information Technology Services | 7 | $121,647.50 |
| 911 | 7 | $87,239.54 |
| Sheriff | 5 | $54,159.26 |
Prison and Facilities Management together account for 42 of the 79 purchase orders, or about 53%, and approximately $512,059.56, or about 52% of the dollars represented in the file.
The descriptions show what the purchase orders were for
The largest purchase order in the export is $23,171.55 to CDW Government for Information Technology Services. Its description references an HPE ProLiant server.
Other examples include a $22,300 Facilities Management purchase order to McClure Company for conversion to drug-evidence-room storage; $22,169.70 to HP Inc. for 18 laptops for Drug and Alcohol; and two separate $9,000 purchase orders to Vonderhaus Gill German Shepherds for dogs identified in the file as "K9 Karma" for the Sheriff's Office and "TANGO" for the Prison.
The spreadsheet also contains a $9,898.40 District Attorney purchase order whose description references .223 ammunition, a $10,496 Prison purchase order for a fentanyl-series ductless hood, and a $17,116.70 Sheriff's Office purchase order for upfitting equipment for a new K9 vehicle.
Those entries are examples of what appears in the County's own purchase-order descriptions. They are not, by themselves, evidence that a purchase was unnecessary or improperly made.
Several vendors appear repeatedly
| Vendor | PO count | Total ordered |
|---|---|---|
| Supplysource | 4 | $66,068.84 |
| Berkshire Systems Group, Inc. | 4 | $55,294.00 |
| Americhem International Inc. | 5 | $47,580.28 |
| CDW Government, Inc. | 2 | $43,789.05 |
| Witmer Public Safety Group, Inc. | 4 | $40,366.22 |
This release is a starting point, not the supporting documentation
RTK Media's request deliberately sought the existing purchase-order data export and did not request the individual invoices, quotes, bids, contracts or supporting documentation at this stage.
A purchase-order description can identify a transaction worth examining, but it does not provide the full procurement record. Any question about pricing, bidding, justification or delivery would require the underlying documents.
RTK Media is publishing the complete files
The native spreadsheet and complete request history are available below and in the Files library.
